One record per patient - period during which the patient was alive and had one or more outpatient medication fills in the previous 12 months.

Purpose

Used in the URSA-PHARM module to identify qualifying patients for inclusion in module-related concepts.

Detailed narrative of logic

1. This logic begins with the URSA-CORE Timeline Master synthetic object which provides the framework of one record per patient timeline period, around which additional module-specific concepts are layered.
2. Next, the Outpatient Medication Fills Aggregator for URSA-PHARM Concepts is added to the timeline to flag outpatient pharmacy fills occurring in the previous 12 months, represented in the timeline as events.
3. Then, the Targeted Medication Fills with Medication Therapy Episodes object is added to the timeline to flag claims for opioid fills in the past 6 and 12 months, both represented in the timeline as events.
4. Next, the Targeted Medication Fills with Medication Therapy Episodes object is added to the timeline to flag active medication therapy periods for targeted medications, represented in the timeline as a potentially-overlapping interval.
5. Finally, the Outpatient Medication Fills Aggregator for URSA-PHARM Concepts is added to calculated a cumulative of total plan and patient paid amounts in the current calendar year, represented in the timeline as a potentially-overlapping interval.
