Article summary

Increasing provider engagement and enabling team communication are core goals of Ursa Studio. Each report has its own News Feed, a common space for users to share their findings and collaborate with each other.

Unread Posts Notification

If there are unread posts on a report, a badge with the number of unread posts will appear on the leftbar beside the link to the News Feed until the News Feed is opened.

Posting to the News Feed

Users can add a post by typing into the input bar at the bottom of the News Feed. Alternatively, they can post via the "Share This Analysis" button at the topbar of most use cases. If the post is made via "Share This Analysis," then the context of the post is kept with the post text, and all users can follow a link on the post to pull up the shared analysis alongside the post text. In this way, the News Feed can be used by anyone as a way to highlight and share interesting discoveries in the report data.

Shared posts are retained even as reports are updated and reinstantiated. Following the link pulls up the saved analysis specifications, populated with the new data. If a measure has changed sufficiently for the post context to be rendered invalid, users will not be able to drill down into the shared post.

Public and Private Posts

Posts marked as public will be visible to all users of the report. Posts marked as private will be visible to the user who created the post, as well as the users and user groups that share the report.

Inline Charts

When users post a chart from Measure Explorer to the News Feed, the chart itself is reproduced underneath the post text. The details of the chart are a snapshot of the chart at the moment it was posted and will not be updated if and when future reruns change what the chart looks like in Measure Explorer.
