The scatter plot is another chart type available for the visualization of measures, akin to the various chart types available in Measure Explorer. However, some key differences in the setup of scatter plot charts merit their having a dedicated screen in Analytics Portal.
Unlike the charts in Measure Explorer, scatter plots support up to three different measure expressions. The first is laid across the X axis, the second is laid across the Y axis, and the optional third measure expression drives the color of the bubble.
Users can click on each bubble to "Keep Only", "Exclude", or "View Cases" of the data represented by the bubble.
Each split value is represented by a bubble, and the size of the bubble is determined by the denominator total.
Unlike the chart types in Measure Explorer, scatter plot charts do not support different perspectives, or the other options in the left tabs of Measure Explorer.
